[1] Estimates of the fair value of all derivative assets and liabilities above are derived from Level 2 inputs, which are estimated primarily using actively quoted prices for similar instruments from brokers and observable inputs, including market transactions and third-party pricing services. We do not currently have any Level 3 input measures and there were no transfers into or out of Level 2 or 3 during the first six months of 2014 and 2013.
[2] Commodity zero-cost collars are not designated as hedging instruments and had a notional quantity of 4,768 and 5,421 metric tons of copper at June 29, 2014 and December 31, 2013, respectively. These instruments are not included in the notional amounts above as they were subject to a USD denominated cap and floor; however, they are included in the total asset and liability balances as appropriate. The average cap and floor at June 29, 2014 and December 31, 2013 were $7,319 and $6,684 and $7,639 and $6,978, respectively.
