Cummins Inc. To Share Growth Story with Investment Community

-- Analyst day to focus on Components businesses - Cummins' fastest-growing segment

CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) will highlight the role its Components businesses play in helping Cummins deliver sustainable earnings growth at a conference today for industry analysts at the Company's North American turbocharger production facility.

The Components Group is Cummins' fastest-growing business segment. It consists of four businesses - filtration, turbochargers, exhaust aftertreatment and fuel systems - which together offer some of the Company's most significant growth opportunities.

Components Group President Rich Freeland and the heads of each of the businesses will make presentations to analysts and will be available to answer questions. Those in attendance also will be offered tours of Cummins' 112,000-square-foot turbocharger manufacturing plant.

Today's presentations will outline the Company's efforts to grow revenue and profits over the next two to three years. The conference will center around three basic themes:

-- Cummins' Components segment is well-positioned to take
advantage of long-term growth trends, such as increasingly
stringent emissions regulations and the need for greater
        engine fuel efficiency.

-- Cummins' technical leadership is creating a significant
competitive advantage for the Components segment.

-- Operational efficiency improvements are positioning Cummins'
Components segment to achieve its Earnings Before Interest and
Tax target of 9 percent of sales.

"The Components story for this decade has been one of meeting tougher emission standards in the U.S. and Europe," Freeland said. "The next decade will see a similar emissions push in emerging markets, while our customers in the U.S. and Europe demand greater fuel efficiency.

"These trends, along with Cummins' technology leadership, position the Components Group for above-market growth by providing more and higher-value content on each engine produced by Cummins and our outside OEM customers."

The conference will be webcast live starting at 8 a.m. today. The link to the webcast can be found on the investor relations portion of the Company's web site, www.cummins.com.
